Smile Wheel Compliments from a stranger

I was filling up at the gas station (93 Octane, woohoo!) tonight, and a gentleman filling up his Acura was eying Lazarus as I pulled up. You could tell he wanted to say something, but couldn't - so I turned a bit to hide my smile...finally he just blurted out "What size wheels are those?"

Told him they were 20x11 (he could see the back end), and he asked how the ride was, because his buddy put 20s on his Civic and he thought his back was going to break...

I mentioned they were factory, and he was all impressed - said he loved the way they looked, black and concave, and drove off!

Pretty nice guy - I'm loving these little experiences the car is creating for me.

Well, i for one think they are terrible wheels and i can't believe you are keeping them on your car.

you should do the right thing and sell them to me. I will take them off your hands so you can upgrade. it's just who i am. i am a giver.

Well isn't that a generous offer!

Will you.....GIVE....me enough to buy a new set of the same wheels?

I was washing the Z in my driveway yesterday afternoon and had a guy and his son drive by three times in a new BMW convertible looking at the car. It will turn some heads.

I went to the local "cruise in" where there was about 200 cars and 350++ people at the local Sonic. When I arrived (first time ever for me to go), the organizer yelled to me, "Hey... Over here, Over here".... he wanted my car in the prime spot near the entry so everyone could see it. He said they had been trying to find a dealer with a ZL1 on hand to bring it to show, but came up empty! He couldn't believe one had just driven in and was extremely grateful. We had the portable chairs in the trunk! We stayed from 5 - 8 pm. The car was surrounded all night long with people of every age, gender, race, and income. I now know what Scott feels like! I was glad I could be there to "share" in the creation of this piece of history. My wife and I met a lot of friendly people and the attention to the car affirmed to me that GM has created a historical marker of originality and distinction.

Nice story, I'm looking forward to making new friends and driving to such events with my wife.
