lol...I think they wrestled with the name for a while...back in those days, all Chevys had to start with the letter "C", especially a new line of cars...

I heard the Camaro, for a fleeting moment, was originally going to be named the Honeybadger because it took what it wanted.

This sounds like a complete load of B.S. to me. The Chevy Nova was already in production in fall 1961 as a 1962 model, and the Buick Wildcat was in production in fall 1962 as a 1963 model. So I don't see how they could be considering names already in use for the Camaro a few years later. Packard had Panther concept cars in the 1950's, and Chaparral Motorsports already existed in the early 1960's, so I don't think they would be considering either of those either.

I don't know about any of the others, but Panther was definately in the running for the name of the Camaro. As I understand it, it was the project name when they began tossing ideas around for the car.

Maybe they considered Panther, but Nova and Wildcat were already in use. So I don't see how they could be considering naming the Camaro either of those. It would be the same as if Chevy was designing a new car now and considered calling it LaCrosse or Suburban. Makes zero sense as these names are already in use, and the new car was not a replacement for either.

Hmmm, that's weird... my V6 still says Camaro on it.

Maybe it means something different for me? "Weeniefied Poser Slowmaro?"
