hey people,

i just replace the fog lights bulbs on my camaro RS convertible to P13W 18 SMD LED Fog DRL Light Bulbs, i got them at ebay and they works and looks good, the only thing is that when i got the car out from the garage to see how it looks with sun light, they dont turn on, they only turn on when i unlock the car or i turn off the car and take the key out, (inside the garage because is dark).

so my question is, does any body know if the DRL works only with the stock bulbs or why does mine doesnt go on during the day.

or does it takes time for them to turn?

IF your car has the manual trans and the parking brake is on the lights are off untill you release the brake. As for automatics I'm not sure.

Also, they are daytime running lights, they only turn on if it is light outside. You bought P13W bulbs, they aren't specific for fog lights

We have an SS and a 2LT Vert, both 2011 & A6, I put the same bulbs in both, mine in the SS R On all the time when it's light out, my wifes Vert only come on when put in gear.... Go figure!!!

Mine turn on when i shift from park to D or S. Other than that mine are on all the time even at night. But thats because of my plug n play harness.

The "DRL's" only come on when the car is in gear during the daytime.

aac was saying that the signal from the car for the drl is very altternating, and it burns out led bulbs really quick. they have a harness that stabilizes it.

Thanks guys, yeah they go on when its on gear. I like how they look, now im gonna make them be on all the time, which way is the best one?

Hi,

I´m from Germany and own a black L99 2SS/RS. I got a question concerning those DRLs.

Are they only DRL or are they fog lights as well?

What I mean is if they can be turned on when the HIDs are on?

What kind of bulbs did you put in for having an HID effect?

Daniel, on the RS equiped cars they are only DRL........daylight running. When the HID's are on...they are off. With-out the conversion harness..they can't be turned on with the HID's on.

I know this is an old post, just in case. I added the plug and play hardness to drl, and now i can have them on day and night automatically.
