What are you guys paying for cam installs.

I'm looking to cam my car and just wondering a general price. I'm hoping to do this as a gift for my birthday in August. I wish I could find someone in the southeast near Alabama that could do a cam install and tune it within a day or two.

I would be looking for shop hourly rates and expected time to do the install of the cam with supporting components springs hardened pushrods trunion upgrade etc.. and then the tune, different shops are more than likley different shop rates based off you're location..

you will also need to budget in the extras new oil and coolant probably a timing chain etc etc etc etc etc... as the list goes one the cost increases..

it all adds up, but you should do things once if you're going in to the internals..

my $0.02

Please see the link I posted, has all FSP's install prices including Cam/Rods/Springs etc... broken down. If you find a shop that is willing to do an all inclusive deal then it is a win/win....Hence our Cam Install special

Feel free to give us a call here at lethal racing. Remember, if the price is too cheap you want to question the brand/quality of parts being used. We use only name brand parts!

I was quoted for 1500 cam install only no dyno or tune. This is in el paso tx so there's really no LS shops around here.

Roughly $2500+- depending in options! Try MTI! They are in Cobb Co in Ga, maybe a 2 or 3 hour drive, not sure! But that's the closest u know of!

My install and tune was $1,500. Turnaround for me was about 3 days IIRC. Good luck and find a good shop with a good tuner. DO NOT compromise or you will regret it. Do it once and do it right, might cost more upfront but will save you tons on the backside.

Nothing . Tracy and RX really took care of me after my motor exploded. Since I got a new LS3 to replace my L99 he only charged me for the price of the custom cam and supporting parts.

From my Note

This...

And honestly you don't want a cam swap and a tune done in a day or two.
