In the Trunk

This is my first post on here, i regularly check for updates and this is awesome that someone gets to take on of these things accross the country. maybe this has already been mentioned but it looks like the battery is in the trunk. is that for weight distribution or is there just no room under the hood? I still think the trunk could have been bigger but i suppose it is bigger than the gen 4 camaros

Thanks for sharing the experience driving down Heather. Very good news and very exciting! Please take a few pics of her once she is clean. See what you've done? We are going to keep you so busy that you won't be able to actually enjoy your vacation. :(

Not really. This is one of the "captured test fleet" cars so everything you see here you can expect to see in production. They'll only be fixing small bugs at this point (and getting ambient lighting fully working )

With your statement about people following you I think you had the appropriate song on the radio...Wanted Dead or Alive!

So wait, any jealous moron can just walk up, pop the filler door and pour whatever they want into the gas tank??

This was something that was a big turn off for me on the GT500 as well.

Also, and sorry if this has already been answered, but who are you to GM to get to drive one of these across country? That's awesome.

Just buy a locking gas cap if you live in a town full of a-holes. How can a 10 dollar Pep Boys part keep you from buying a car?

All Camaros you can walk up and open the gas door, nothing new on the 5th gen.

If they were that jealous they could just key the Camaro.

I would assume that the gas door will not open unless the car is unlocked. My girlfriends BMW has the same push to open fuel door but it will not open unless the car is unlocked.

It's not something that would keep me from buying the car, but it's a 2010 model for crying out loud. My 1999 Accord has a secured filler door as does my 4Runner. Not to mention you have to keep up with an additional key if you buy one of those cheapie $10 Pep Boys caps.

Also, when gas hit $4.00 a gallon over the summer, people without secure filler doors were getting their gas siphoned out left and right. This door should be secured in some fashion.

If that is infact the case, then I have no issues.
