HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN MINNESOTA?

Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Minnesota, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in when using the film.

Windshield No tint is allowed on the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 50% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 50% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 50% of light in.

We have limo tint on all our cars with no issues, though the tint guy will only give you limo if he thinks it would enhance the look of your car (ie make/model) but with no ticket issues im think OK is kind of slack on the rules (whatever they are)

Good luck! A while back I checked into the laws and I believe RI has the strictest requiring at least 70%. I didn't want another reason to get my b@llZ busted with not having a front plate so I decided to go without the tint.

Talking

Legal here in Florida is 30%, but I have 15% no problems yet. I did have limo tint is previous cars and gotten tickets for it. The 15% looks dark enough to look good, but it allows enough light for cops to stay away.

Unless you are planning to smoke weed in you car 15% will do... lol.

In MN trucks, suvs and vans are different. The front 2 doors need to be 50% + or - 3%. The rest you can paint black if you want. That's why your brother's truck is good to go.

Custon painted is correct on the other tint levels.

Delaware must allow 70% through and they will get you on it every time
