Yeah, the Z/28 is going to be $$$. The perfect Z/28 would have even more aggressive weight savings like lightweight doors/panels, manual windows, & rear seat & console delete. It would also have extra gauges in place of radio, extra bracing, rollbar, & a dry sump, high-revving 302 based off the new LT1. Keep the ZL1 brakes, coolers, & add upgraded coilovers & 1LE package. GM could have kept the price in the low $40s. It would have been more accessible to regular guys on a budget.

Z/28 is essentially the COPO Camaro for road racing.

It's not a 1LE with an LS7 or a ZL1 without the LSA and MRC. It's more for track performance than street like the aforementioned variants and while not quite to the extreme the COPO is the idea is the same.

Cobra R is a perfect example. Although I wouldn't expect production to be limited.

302LS? I thought it was a 6.2(378)LT1 with direct injection???

with the help of direct injection how many valves per head and how many cams? yes i agree we are kinda in the dark age with OHV but i can't explain why I love them other than they are so much easier to tear apart and rebuild and a h/c package doesn't cost as much as a new s60 lol

I'm thinking it'll be $59,995. Depending on the options, it may go upwards to $64,995.

I don't wanna sound like a complete and total nut job here -- but maybe we should wait for Chevy to announce pricing before speculating our way off the deep end?

A noble thought, but doubtful it will catch on...lol...I'd say it's fair sport for now...Pricing may be a while off...If they'd say when they will announce the price, you would be spot on...lol...

this topic needs to be dropped. look at what they put into the Z28. the brakes and engine alone add $17K to the price over an SS. possibly even ZL1.

It should be the most expensive Camaro yet, I just think as usual GM went all wrong about it. I just don't know how many people will spend that kind of money on a Camaro.
If it were done right l lots would.

see above post because i agree with you, more cams and more intake and exhaust valve=greater hp and tq numbers (more air in more air out)
