Lug nut socket w/ plastic inserts/sleeves for the ZL1?????

Does anyone know if there is a lug nut socket that is available for the ZL1 (22mm correct?) that has an inner plastic sleeve/insert so I don't mar the finish on my lug nuts? If so, can anyone tell me where to find one?

This looks like a good set for $50.

Why not wrap the socket with black tape? An easy .99 cent fix.

Wrapping the socket won't work since I don't want to damage the lugnut. I'm not worried about damaging the rim. I don't think the plastic on those ones on amazon will work either. The plastic does not appear to be on the lands.

$200+ rim repair or $3.00 lugnut

I get what you are saying. I have only seen the ones that protect the rim. As long as you do everything by hand, no impacts, the lugnuts are fine. I always do my cars the same way and have never had an issue. This also includes black lugnuts.

This lug nut socket set is designed to protect custom rims and lug nuts.
Vinyl jacket protects rims from scratches
Nylon insert protects lug nuts from scratches and damage to threads on the studs
Color coded for quick identification of sizes
Chrome moly

7/8" should fit just fine

BTW, I use them on mine
