Absolutely! I can't take away his knowledge and work he HAS done, but he has to make it right regardless. I just hope he does.

Is there ever protection for the customer in these situations? Is it only the people that paid cash?

I would think by card u would be protected on the work, but for some that have missing parts and so forth maybe insurance? This shop had a good rep so people I'm sure just paid in cash thinking this would never happen. I know I was screwed out by a local shop on work which I paid cash will never do it again.

I don't know how he was in the past but I gave him ample time to do the right thing and was lied to all the way. It was eventually clear he had no intent what so ever to pay me what he owed me..

Oh im fine, Ive already reordered from the maunfacturer and am installing. Yeah it cost me but it coat others much more..My onlu goal.at this point is ro bring this to light in hopes thia doesnt happen to anyone else and hopefully he pays for his very very bad decisions to scam people. My bank is going after for fraud as we speak (i sent rhem the emails where he lied). I got lucky as i am a gold card holder with bank of america which has 100% fraud protection Up to 100,00p dollars. However im sure they wont have much mercy in getting their money back..

He wont. Thats why he left New Jersey years ago and ended up working for ecs sweeping the floors before opening up shop in FL. Everyone unfortunately is screwed. I feel terrible for ppl i know who spent 10s of thousands with him to get nothing back. He shorted people and from what ive been told locally, his brother blew the rest away in drugs and stuff. I hope that part isnt true but the way its looking now isnt promising

So crazy to me people are paying first. Isn't the whole purpose to gain relationships with shops? And vice versa? Get to know the shop do some research. I know my shop will do my builds first then when it's complete I pay them... Hopefully some of you guys didn't spend all your money on your cars to get get a lawyer.

The shop did have issues prior to this actually. Mainly work quality of the build and short cuts.

I did build a relationship with the shop, which is why i felt comfortable sending the money to get the parts ordered. I cant say anyone there didnt feel comfortable doing business with them or else they wouldnt have sent it. Im sure most of the cars were repeat business, i know i was.

That's total BS... you're obviously tuned by Phil. They all troll the FSP threads.
