Steering rod

This doesn't look normal ? The passenger side when I turn the wheel it makes a loud clunking like the wheel wants to fall off and the passenger side the boot extends when turned to the right

That's the inner TIE ROD, not steering rod.

Sounds like they need replaced, do BOTH, not one. Do the tie-rod ends too,
you're gonna need an alignment when it's done anyway.

There is no clamp on that bellows either, so they will come off the rack if they
are not secured. I had mine done at a shop, and they FORGOT to secure them
to the rack, AND to the tie rod, won't be going back there ever again.

You should get it checked, to be sure it's not the rack, just in case.
