Car has been at the dealership for two days now for the blower motor and chipped spoiler paint issue.
Spoiler is still not repaired because they need one more spacer and one more day. Regarding the blower fan squeak, the service writer at least heard the noise (thank goodness) and after looking into the repair, he advised that he was unable to verify that there is an "updated" fan or repair in the works. He said that they would go ahead and do the "cut out" repair if I wanted though. My gut tells me to wait for something better or an updated replacement fan, so we decided I would wait 3-6 months and then have the repair done unless it gets intolerable. I'm good with this for now. Does anyone have reliable information regarding the supposed updated fan due out in the near future? |

My 2010 Camaro 2SS (12000 mi) has this issue also, I will be taking it in next week. I have a 2005 Colorado with the same problem. This is a common issue with Colorado's dating back to 2004 it is found on the Coloradofans.com Forum. The fix for the Colorado was replace motor or add insulator cover for $30.00. What's up GM? Both Vehicles make this noise when the motor is running at low speeds.

Mine does it too. I'm thinking I should just live with it. The fix sounds like more problems than the problem.

I have the same issue, but after reading this thread I'm not sure I want to take it to the dealership.

Mine does this as well and have it scheduled to be at the dealer tomorrow. I figured it would be a simple blower replacement but maybe not.

Anyone know if they have improved the replacement part yet? I covered my external fan assembly in foam and it seemed to decrease the noise a little, still annoying though...

I have the squeaking fan too. I also notice that it is at such a high pitch that not everyone can hear it. I have to get it fixed along with the exhaust.

I have a 2011 with this problem, so apparently GM hasn't improved the fan yet. I have a replacement seat cover coming due the the belt loop snap breaking, I'm going to talk to them when I go in. I only have like 2500 miles on the car.

No that's not it. that's engine accessory noise. I had my car at the dealer for a seat belt loop repair and had them check the heat/air fan noise. They said they replaced the fan motor in the heater core, also said it's the 3rd one they've done. Now it's nice and quiet.
