Mindz Camaro Project...(recording how many times my decision will change)
Well here's my first post of many to come. You're welcome to follow my thoughts and decision making as I wait for my camaro convertible in March of 2011 (as well as watch me have nervous breakdowns and serioussly consider getting a hardtop instead.
REVISED: Current decision is in the quote below. As I will no longer be getting a convertible, I've started exploring my bigger budget for modifications. Quote:

As it stands, right now, I'm aiming for a Convertible, ordering in October-ish of 2010.
Right now, my color choice is white with vibrant orange stripes, as well as grabbing the convertible concept wheels or something similar and having the spokes painted white to match. I still have an old chop of a picture Dragoneye and I worked on which is posted below... Victory Red and Imperial Blue Metallic have a gnawing place in the back of my mind though. That IBM with CGM stripes and VR with gloss black stripes are super flashy...Plus I can track my car if I get a hardtop...Decisions, decisions... |

I even had a thread debating on if I want a vert/hardtop or another car, and the points made in the thread went against what the poll said, so that wasn't any help...

Saw this post and definitely going to go with this set up when I finally get my car...I'm all for keeping the stock exhaust note, even while running straight pipes...
http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7027 Gonna be looking for a Turbo set up as well possibly. I'm thinking either Squires (STS) or Fastlane if they get a CARB cert for their system. So far STS is the only CARB certified turbo system legal for CA. Either way, I love the sound of a spool and blow off valve mixed with a roaring V8. Check out how I'm hoping my camaro will sound when I'm done with it. http://s81.photobucket.com/player.sw...fs=1&os=1&ap=1 Last edited by Mindz; 05-28-2009 at 11:29 PM. |

Well after seeing that GM filed for bankruptcy today, it brings my anxiety level up slightly. A small part of me is worried that the company won't keep the convertible on schedule (granted it's already delayed till 2011). This same part is telling me to get the hardtop at the end of this year instead of waiting for the convertible. My fiancee re-enforces this point as she still doesn't like the convertible and is very vocal about it. She's trying to convince me that I will track my car more than once and a hardtop is better for that, however her cousin has offered to install the rollbar for me should I get a convertible and want to track it.
Again, the scales are teetering and starting to sway from my resolute decision. The more I see hardtops, the more I start breaking. I am hoping that some news will surface publicly about the development of the convertible so I can rest 100% easy knowing that it's still going to be released. |

*cough*hardtop*cough*
Imagine all the waiting for the convertible...and what happens if last minute they delay it more or even cancel it..... ? and all that time (What, a year?) you could have been in a hardtop... But i know how you feel about the convertible..... tough decision....

Sigh. Another story that makes me want a Camaro 5 minutes ago instead of waiting. Am I to be punished this way until I actually order? http://camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22711 is the first story that got to me. |

One thing to think about, how many Panic du Jours will happen with the convertible the first little while? Hopefully none, but the idea gives me the heebie jeebies

So far the hardtops haven't had much problems, and the reason the convertible is pushed back is that they just secured a new company to make the tops. I have been thinking about it though, and it's one of the reasons why the hardtop is appealing.
That and road/cabin noise... |

Mindz, I do think you will be ok if you wait. It's what you always wanted, since before I became a member here. I know people can change their mindz... but dont' change it out of fear. In my opinion the worst case is you wait, they don't make it and you get a hard top a little later than you hoped.
Hang in there boss.
