V6 - Is there any advantage to 91 or 93 octane?

With a '13 2LT V6 is there any good reason to pay extra for the higher octane? My Miata had a high compression engine and it definitely made a difference, but will it make any difference with a relative low compression engine like the V6? I wouldn't think so, but I am not an expert on these things and would appreciate some opinions on this. Thanks.

11.5:1 is not low compression. Yes it makes a difference.

Nothing wrong with putting higher octane and it's OK if you want to put regular. That's the answer you'll get in a nutshell.

I always run the best gas in my stuff. Lawn mower, dirt bike, car, doesn't matter. I ran Shell V-Power in my V6 Camaro.

I think the key is buying a Top Tier fuel such as Chevron, Shell or ExxonMobil to get more cleansers and detergents.

Buying more octane than the engine requires is a waste but I stay away from the Citgo, Valery and Murphy fuels because they can leave injector and combustion chamber deposits.

Higher octane gas has a higher flash point than lower octane fuel to fight detonation, no benefit to performance as long as the engine is rated for lower octane fuel.

Does anybody bother to search before posting?

Seriously, there's about 20 threads on this topic already, and with each additional thread, more people post bad, wrong, or misinformed opinions as facts.

So then what makes the previous threads the correct ones? Btw. The search feature sucks on here.
If it bothers you then why did you click on it?

Please. In less than five minutes I found many, many threads discussing this exact topic, using the search tool. And if you can't see the difference between responses like these:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...60&postcount=4
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...39&postcount=7
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...0&postcount=22

...and some of the other stuff people post as "fact," then I guess I don't know what to say.

Oh, BTW, do you see how they say this topic has been "beat to death" or "another thread on this great debate"---in 2010 and 2011?

Wait, if the search tool is not adequate, all the OP would have had to do was go to the LFX subforum and scroll down. Don't even have to go to the second page to find this thread...on the same subject: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=340198

Oh, and just a few below that one is this one: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=362865

You're right. I shouldn't have clicked on it.
