I want to remind you about West Beach. Seriously. I used to drive out there to study (only lived about 5 minutes away).

Also, if you're looking for a place to connect with the world and nature, drive east up route to to Diablo Lake. Beautiful spot to chill out. It is about a 1.5 hour drive each way to get there though, but the drive is good for the soul too.
