If Im understanding it correctly, you get a temporary title in Michigan in order to register it. Not so in ny. You have to have the actual title to register. Its not so much bringing it into ny thats the trouble but rather the registration process. Its just a matter of waiting at this point.

My past experience with this has been the dealer sends the buyer all the paperwork necessary including the previous title signed over to you with everything else, the sales order, proof of insurance, and any other forms. They overnight it to you, then you go to the NY DMV pay the sales tax, get your plates and your done. I just did it a week ago. I had no issues whatsoever. Maybe it is different with what the Michigan dealer is doing opposed to where I have done mine one in Miami, and the last one was done from Mass. PM me if I can help you in any way. I hope the dealer did not apply for a new title as that is not necessary.

I concur with this.

I've registered approx 10 cars in NYS over the past 15 years from 8 other states. Recently did one from Nevada. None were from Michigan though...

Not sure. I'm probably going to sit the year out and get back in when the time is right. Not even sure what that will be at this point. We will see. Also, I actually had 4 different 5th gens, two SS's and a 12 and 14 ZL1.

I can vouch for Blueclyde. He has always kept his cars in immaculate condition.

Back when I bought my 2011 SS convertible and took it to Rodgers for some custom work, Blueclyde had just traded his 2010 for a new one an IIRC, his 2010 had only 2900 miles on it and it had NEVER been wet at all.

I bought by Recaros from Maureen at Rodgers. It was too easy.

x2. I picked up his '12 ZL1 from Becky/Joe and it was in mint condition. Traded my modded '11 SS for it, but best choice I've made. ZL1 is a beast, especially if you track it.

I did not. I was going to and had one ordered but am not going to get into another at this time. I'm likely going to sit this year out and migh consider another in 17.
