Maybe if a base-version Z/28 were available with all of the mechanical goodness in place but with the high-technology features all left optional and the driver interferences . . . err "assists" . . . simplified to the choice of minimum requirement vs off, the performance premium might not have to be quite so high. Even if this was by order only (COPO?)

I honestly believe the biggest factor in the price is whether or not GM is going to gouge us on the price because it is a Z/28. Are they going to price the car based on it's performance or bump it up because of the name?

THe 1LE is a great value, but we've been told that GM makes a pretty penny on the V8 model Camaro's.

I highly doubt GM will price gouge, but dealership might.
