I would be interested in seeing some pics of your setup.

The 12" JBL subwoofer mentioned above fits in the Subhump enclosure ?

Thanks !

Edge thanks again for the pictures. One question thou, how did you end up wiring the RCA input to the 700/5's sub in from the farm harness? RCA splitter from the front or rear from the dark harness?

Thanks. Finally got my 700/5, 12W3v3, farm harness and drivers side stealth enclosure from ********, trying to figure the wiring out.

The specs for the 700/5 indicates:
5-Channel Class D System Amplifier, 75 W x 4 @ 4 Ω + 300 W x 1 @ 2 Ω.
This means that the Amp can supply 300W on the subwoofer channel to a 2ohm speaker. (@4Ω the Amp will supply 180W)

The 12W3v3 is available in two versions, a 2 ohm subwoofer (12W3v3-2) and a 4 ohm subwoofer (12W3v3-4). If you look up the specs on the 2 ohm subwoofer you will see that the optimal range is around 300 - 400W. This makes it a good match for the 700/5 amp.

The setting I have on my amp are:

Channel 1&2 - HP Filter 1X. Filter Freq - 80
Channel 3&4 - Filter Mode OFF
I can't remember what I finally set the subwoofer channel to but I think it was 12dB Filter Freq - 80

I have some pics from my build, if you PM me your email address I'll send them to you.

You don't have to. Set the input mode switch to "4 channel" mode. It will sum all 4 channels to create the sub input. Take a look at the manual, it explains it. I looked it up yesterday, before I ordered the same amp. :-)

Here is the excerpt from the manual:

If you prefer to use only four channels of input
into the XD700/5, set the “Input Mode” switch
in the “4 Ch.” position and use the Ch 1 & 2 and
Ch 3 & 4 Inputs. In this mode, the XD700/5 will
derive its subwoofer channel signal from a sum
of all four input signals. The bass will not fade
when the signal is faded by the head unit from
front to rear.

Thanks for such a quick response, looks like I skimmed the instructions too fast and misread the purpose of that switch, though it controlled the number of outputs not inputs.

Thanks again!

Yes, what Lee said. I set the Input mode to 4 channel.

Other settings: The Remote was set to the Sub and I cut the female RCAs off the FARK harness and soldered on male RCAs.

I just did this install last night. Rather than soldering on male RCA's I went to radio shack and got some male to male rca adapters. Of course soldering will save you $15.

Just out of curiosity; what are your gain settings at. I'm thinking that around 1/4 for the 1-4 channels should be about enough. Just a pain to pull the car apart every time I want to make a change.

I used the 9 step calibration procedure to set the gains, see Appendix A on page 14 of the manual. It was a fairly straight forward process, you just have to have the right tones which can be found with a google search or you can buy the CleanSweep CD.

I didn't use the RCA adapters to avoid the losses associated with the adapters and I after all it is just one more thing that could go bad (well four actually).

Just a question- why did you guys have to solder on male RCAs or have to use adapters? The amp and FARK both have female RCA plugs, so you can run a RCA cable between them. Were you just trying to avoid having to run the set of RCA cables?
