******** harness kit resistor

can somebody tell me what type of resistor to get a replacement for? the one with the kit i broke when installing, other then that all went well. please anyone can help? just need to know what size/or numbers to ask for at radio shack, hopefully they would have

Take the one you broke to Radio Shack. I think those things are color coded. Also, he may be able to hook up a multimeter (or something) to what is left of it and tell you.

I never used mine. I'm pretty sure you don't even need to use it.

yeah thats what i wondered, if i just use it without, will it all work? do I have to have the orange wire back together then? or keep it cut?

I never installed mine either and everything works perfectly fine. I think it is only necessary if you change the head unit. In any case, I just measured mine, it is a 1 kilo-ohm resistor.

edge, thanks, i was reading its for chimes and signal sound to lower them a bit? will try to get one if not wont use.

Are you supposed to install resistors with the x3 harness????

Engine/Performance: Hurst Short Throw Shifter, Rx Catch Can painted IBM, (to come: JacFab CAI, muffler delete/Flowmasters)

The resistor won't help with the chimes, and you don't have to use it. If I remember right they (********) included it because you might need it if you swap out the stock head unit. I did not install it in my 2012 last month and everything works normal.
