But if GM has "topped off" our earnings to $3000, that means I can use all $3000 on a camaro, and not just $1000 right? Otherwise, why top it off? No ones going to go buy three cars at once because GM is having a little sale.

I am not 100% sure since I havn't recieved one of those "top offs", but from what I understand and have read... Each car has a different Redeption Allowance cap, some are $1000, some are $1500, some $3000... So regardless of your "top off", you are still limited to the maximum redemption for the car you select. If you select a car with a limit of $3000 or more, then you are fine, you can use al your points. But like I said, it states on their site that the Camaro is maxed at $1000. So I doubt the "cap off" will make a difference.

Just because GM tops off your points, doesn't mean your eligible to use them all. It's not like they only manufacture one car... If they had a small selection, or only one car to choose from, then yes, topping off your points is useless if there is a cap. But since there is a selection of cars to choose from, they top it off in the hope to intice you to get any car...

I could be wrong, If anyone has recieved this "top off" offer, can you read the fine print and see if it override the set Redeption Allowance Cap?

I think the only way to REALLY KNOW how much of your earnings can be applied is to check, but with a specific VIN.

I had a customer back in October that when we entered the earnings he was allowed to use $2,380 on the purchase of his Camaro. He was quite delighted!

So, if it goes by VIN, then why do they have a Redeption Allowance Limit? Isn't it kind of pointless then?

Well, as a matter of fact, yes! lol

But I have seen it more than a few times in the 5 years I have been here. Sometimes it allows more and I can't explain why. It just happens!

My $4000 on my GMCARD, I called them and was told I could use $3500 on any gm product. I have one of the original cards and the rules changed after a few years. You used to be able to use I think $7500. My card wife has a card and they ramped hers upto $3000 and $1000 loyalty. The best I've seen was when they ramped up my son's card to $5960 on a 04 GTO with all the discounting we got a GTO for $15,000 off msrp. $18,400 for a car that was $33,400 and a special interest rate of .9% for three years. His interest for 3 years was $130. I got my card in 1992.

I am going by the current information on their own website. I have one of the original GMCards as well, I do not have the Flex card. But according to the website, doesn't matter which you have. I havn't called to find out specifically if there is anything different...maybe there is. But their website doesn't say anything about having different rules for different cards.

PS my son told me what if he didn't like the GTO. Fully loaded with a 350hp corvette engine. I laughed, I must have fallen with him as a baby. I think he has brain damage.

I have the old GMCard with $2500 on it and they topped it off to $3000!! And yes I can use it all towards a Camaro. I have one on order with a
1-18tpw so I hope I can use it before 2-1. The newer GM Cards are different.

Just got the update today, and my car is STILL at 1100. If my dealer TOLD me he had no allocation, I would have went elsewhere, and I probably would have gotten the car just in time to use this $3000. I emailed the sales guy today to see what he has to say. I asked him if I was on a waiting list and that it shoudln't take 6+ weeks just for GM to accept the order.
