even with the windshield out the hud has to be positioned in place from under the dash, because the opening in the dash for the hud unit is to small to insert that way. also might as well wait and and cut all your opening with the dash out. It will be easier and you can make more accurate cuts.

Hmm cut and glue the vent... Can't think of any downside to that really.

I remembered seeing the dash assembly process in the Ultimate Factory Video. So I went and re-watched that portion (about 26 minutes in) and bummer, they install the 250 pound, completely “dressed” assembly, every 40 seconds It even includes the master cylinder and heater box. So, no help there….

I saw it too, I guess everything is attached to the frame, we may only need to remove the trim panel pad

Wow....well....

someone give me a shout when all of this is figured out...hehe

I was thinking about doing it, but might hold off until a final solution comes about. Regardless, this is some amazing work!

I have not enough time this week but I'll get started on removing the dash next week, unless we find another way of doing this. I'm ready for this....

Parts: have them from Patrick, GMpartshouse.com

harness: have from Ofer

Car: Transformers V6 from NJ, cam5 member, Gus

Location: CT

Timeframe: late this week

I will be attacking this install, most likely remove dash pad to fit bezel

I have completed dozens of HUD upgrades on the C5/6 Corvette

fwiw, C6 Corvette is somewhat simple, I cut the a/c duct and it installs in 10 minutes, the wiring takes some time, you have to solder 6 wires to grab the feeds

c6 at gmail dooooot com , if you need help or have info to help me

My background? 12 years US Air Force F16/A10 crew chief , I have seen some interesting projects

I now have to try and sale a home on Wednesday, But that is what pays me, To pay for all this fun, so i know what i am doing for turkey day.

I don't think cutting the air duct will work.
