I swear the last time on was laying on the floor this afternoon I dozed off....Actually feeling kinda awake now after getting some dinner.
You can't see it in the picture, but the back seat is out, had nothing to do with this project, but was trying to finish up the last project and hadn't put the back seat back in. Note to self, finish one at a time!

Just a couple of pic's. Took one from the drivers side, since Guskd was from the passenger side, and yep another yellow one.

To bad they hide the "Aw Sh#t" bar behind the dash pad!

Actually no, you find you are taking a section out at a time. There are a couple of things that are not mentioned in the manuals, or if they are, I missed them. There is a small bosch module attached to the underside of the dash pad, which is just easier to unlock the tab and slide the module out. It is located just behind the tachometer, just above the hvac duct. Then you have to unlatch the fuse panel, and push it in, but you can only push it in a 1/4 of the way, (hits a brace/wire harness) until you start to lift up the dash panel, than you can unhook the rest of the way. Think they only show 2, 7mm bolts on each end, but think there is actually 3 on the passenger side. The dash actually sits on 2 pins, (one on each side) and you actually lift the bottom of the dash up and off the pins and than start heading toward the back of the car. Also the wiring harness that you see right behind the speedo/tach is in the way of the HVAC duct, and does require using a panel tool to pop the two cable ties out so you can move the harness toward the steering wheel and down around the two tabs that the tie wraps were attached to. Wish I could have taken more pictures, but was a one man job up untill it was time to remove the dash pad. Other than the problem I had with breaking the SIR coil, it went very smoothly. Hope the reinstallation tomorrow goes as well as the removal.

Joe

Note there were 14ea 7mm bolts and 3 torx that held the dash pad in. There is also 2ea 13 mm bolts holding the bottom of the passenger side airbag in. (Counted them as I put them back in)

Good Job guys! I'll have to heat my garage up sometime soon and start on mine!
That is a good question, have to admit, did reference the service manuals quite a bit on this, sometimes it help, sometimes it was of no help. Guess it will depend on what type of documentation comes from the people that have already done it.

What we did is first take the center console out the move all seats back then disconnected the battery (both the positive and negative)( you need to give your self min if 10 min before you start on air bags) Then start removing all the parts, AC controls and radio then the glove box and dash trim, side covers and side air duct, Be organized and but your bolts so you remember where you removed them from.

One more thing on the template it was made at the time and i cut it in the car what you need to do is line it up so the top cut (the one closest to the instrument panel) Is parallel with the step in the dash.

Here are 3 pics one is the steering wheel puller you don't need (sarcasm) and two of the dash one with the way to cut out the opening that you need,So you know the template is small and needs to be opened up on the sides, Guys i am tired and will work on a set for all this in the next two days, but not today i am going to be a vestibule today see you all later.
