Red face Waste not, want not.

Man! That sure is a drag to have body work issues in two places. Stand tall with the insurance adjusters; they have ONLY their interests at heart (if they even have one).

On a related matter, did ya' freeze the venison you didn't eat right away?

Yeah, tell them that the deer jumped out and hit you. Around here, if you say you hit a deer, its your fault and they peg you for more $$.

Consider yourself lucky. These cars are built with such thin skins it could have been much worse! Hit one with my '06 SRT8.... only body damage, hood, grill, fender, door and all the trim = $7500. It don't take much..... if it would have got airborne, it may have come through the glass and really done some trouser damage.

Sorry, did you at least kill the deer. I totaled a chevy pickup a few years back and the stupid deer ran off into the trees...Next time use a 30.06

22 posts thus far and nobody has said..." that will buff right out"

That sucks about your car. We have many deer in my area and I have hit two thus far but both times it was minor damage and the hood ofcoarse.

Insurance companies even say, if you cant slow down in time, do NOT swerve, floor it head on.

1) so you dont hit another car/tree/girder
2) if that is the case it should go on your comprehensive, NOT your collision, aka no rate increase
3) front is a cleaner hit, might get lucky and only need a front fender/hood replacement as opposed to multiple panels
4) accelerating puts distance between you and the deer when you hit it, slowing down has the effect of putting it through your windsheild

Take it to a shop you like and let them duke it out. Don't sign off on anything till the repair is done.

Called progressive and I have an appointment on wednesday at a body shop where they just get an estimate and then from there I get to pick the body shop. And I didn't kill the deer at least instantly. It ran off in the woods so no deer sausage guys sorry.

Finally, you don't have to get 2 estimates, make sure to get it fixed at the dealership, and make sure they're using OEM parts. That is your right by law.
NEVER get bodywork done at a dealership find a place that dose high end cars
dealerships are for buying cars not fixing them you can take it to any body shop you want do some research and find the best shop you do NOT have to have it done at a dealership to get OEM parts take it to your shop not where the insurance co wants you to take it
