I do not get why this would be a GM warranty issue or claim...someone broke into your car, your locks did not fail...am I missing something here??

Its not, best he can hope for is the dealer gives him a good price on the parts.

That sucks!!! Could it also have been that someone just wanted to vandalize the car? Either way, that person is a jerk.

Sorry to hear that but, you'll have to come out of pocket for this. I just only made a thread today about the possibility if you ever caught someone stealing your car and you post this..

I would rather think they tried to steal it. If they only wanted to vandalize it just cause. Mind blogging

Well, maybe He could get GM to cover it under warranty. He could claim that GM designed a car that was way too appealing. Therefore, some people are "forced" to try and steal these cars. If GM didn't make these cars as cool as they are, people wouldn't try to steal them. Hence, it's GM's fault that someone tried to steal it, and the damage should be covered under warranty.

If that approach doesn't work, He will have to pay for it out of His pocket. If He has a high deductible, His insurance won't cover any of it.

The warranty is for defective parts.

Your insurance is for stupidity (whether it be yours, or someone else's)

So, contact your insurance provider and file a claim. Or don't and pay out of pocket. Either way, every Chevrolet dealership from Florida to Oregon will laugh at you for trying to get this covered under warranty. Just sayin.
