I use a 64 GB Lexar P20 now, I have never had to format due to putting all of my cd's on iTunes and then I just copy a song from iTunes and paste to my flash drive in whichever folder that I decide to paste it in and it play perfect. I have done this on numerous flash drives.

I have tried many drives as well, I am currently using a 64 GB Sandisk with good results.
I also use a free program called NotPod to sync with ITunes.

I setup a smart playlist in itunes called camaro, and set the grouping tag of the tracks i want to sync to camaro.

In Notpod I configured it to use that smart playlist.

It keeps everything on the USB Drive organized just like in the itunes library

It Took a little time to set up, but makes syncing Works seamlessly.

I'm just a bit lazy. Which is sad because I work with computers for a living...But when I get home I'm not looking forward to working with them again.

I will give that program a shot. Thanks!

All downloaded or copied from the same source with the same settings. I set the stereo to 10, for example, and the I Pod and CD sound just fine but with the thumb drive it only sounds like it is on 4 or 5. Does that make sense? Hopefully everyone is not confused and any help would be greatly appreciated.
MP3's are compressed and the sound quality sucks. Try this:
