ZL1...Will it have a Gas Guzzler Tax?

I'm assuming that the 2012 ZL1 will have a Gas Guzzler tax as the Cadillac CTS V does! What do you think?

I really hope so. I just love paying more taxes. All kidding aside, I would say it's a pretty safe bet that it will at least in the automatic version.

Yes, indeed, Yes, I think this is a given. I would think that there's no way around it. But it depends on the blower staying in bypass mode and out of the boost longer during testing but that's just my hope that it does make it without a tax.

Well if it does have gas guzzler tax that's a lot of money on the price that is already suspected to be above the current Shelby's.

I think we have a chance of not getting a gas guzzler tax because they absolutely neeeeed to compete with the Shelby's. If you buy an auto with gas guzzler tax that's 2k on top of the price right there!

It won't matter about the price comparison with the Shelby....it will have to do with the EPA gas mileage requirerments!

It the ZL1 can match the 15/23 mpg of the 2011 GT500, I guess it could avoid the gas guzzler tax as well... Seems unlikely though

ZR1 has one, I think it is safe to assume so will the ZL1, unfortunately.

What is another 2k on top of a already $50k car?
Money is money, but I think the point really is mute considering.
It really dont matter how much it is, as those that want and can afford (or not afford for that matter) the ZL1 will buy it no matter the cost.
