SOMEONE TRIED TO STEAL MY CAR.

So someone tried to break in my car last night. While I was out celebrating with my sexy wife for her B-Day(I had a great time with her). At a local bar, where I been once and didn't have a problem. But this night there was a lot of people. So this give the person enough time to pop the key entry. This just made me so freaking people!

Anyway I going to take it to the dealer tomorrow and hope I can get it cover under the warranty. That way I can leave my insurance out of it(don't want to pay the deductible).

I'm wondering if its possible to have the key entry remove completely like the passenger side. And if the dealer would do it or would I have to do it on my own.

Covered by warranty?

Really? That has nothing to do with a gm quality issue.

Why would you think this would be covered by warranty?
What exactly is the factory defect?

Your options are to either pay for it yourself, turn it into your Insurance, or find the person who did it and make them pay.

I know its not a defect on gm part, maybe I worded it wrong. I'm hoping I can get it fix under the warranty. The dealer I got my car from the people are pretty cool.

any suggestion on having the key entry remove.

Even if you remove the keyed lock, then they will skip directly to plan B, breaking a window, which is most thieves plan A in the first place.

lol to all the people who are like, OH Id do the right thing by not trying to get someone else to pay for it, but rather claim it on my insurance because I dont mind paying a deductable or having my premium increase. lol you guys. The car costs so damn much because of the warranty being included.

USE IT OR LOSE IT.

I can't even imagine how/why you could get someone else (other than the perpetrator) to cover the cost of this.

If your deductible is too high, pay outta pocket.

Ah the old " I am an Idiot" play. Good call.

All I meant was, how many of you would really be happy with having to pay a deductable and/or having your insurance premium increase over this?

Do I think the warranty will cover this? God no, I mean really what kind of lie would he tell them to get them to?

Almost no one is that stupid.
