Happened to my cousins cat was found across town by a guy who stopped at a gas station several years ago - cat lived to a ripe old age.
I'm too much of an animal lover - I would have figured out a way to adopt the kitten. |

About a month ago we used a friends suburban to jump start a car,. When we popped the hood we found a cat that was literally baked on to the engine. We figure with how it was laying is that it had it head on the belts and snapped its neck when she started it. It ha been there for a while too. When we took it out it ripped apart. One of the most horrific smells iv encountered.

I rescued a kitten (which I gave to my dad) which was caught all up in my neighbor's rusty and decomposing car from the 50's - which hasn't moved from his backyard - probably since the 50's. I kept hearing a little meow for a good half hour, looked outside, saw no cat. Went outside, sounded like it was coming from the car. I went into his backyard, and fished the kitten out from inside the car. The kitten fit in the palm of my hand, and was covered in grease. Washed her off. Tried to put her back outside but after seeing that her mom was totally ignoring her (I guess due to the smell, or whatever), I couldn't let her stay outside. Gave her to my dad, and the two have been inseparable ever since.
As for my car, I see cats sleeping under it - and occasionally ON it (grrrr lol), but so far, none have somehow gotten inside of it. |

I used to do animal rescue....once had to pull a feral kitten out of the engine compartment of a UT students car. She had just drove in from Houston to Austin and noticed the kitten meowing when she parked the car.

If that happened to me, I'd adopt the kitten immediately. Sure, they may jump and lay down on the hood of my car at times (the ones I don't even own), but I love cats.
