2012 needed for testing Shorty headers and TB

As most of you know I've worked with several companies to test parts for our cars. Doing this I have made quite a few contacts and been able to "share the wealth" so to speak when it comes to free parts. Well, here is the next chance.

I was contacted by Anthony and he has a client that is looking to get a CARB cert for their shorty headers and possibly a TB. This type of testing is time consuming (days not hours) so the company will give the owner the parts they test on their car, for allowing them use of the car.

Here is what I got from Anthony:


Pretty much ill install the part and drive it to Diamond Bar to the test facility where they will have it for a few days. The customer will keep any part we test on it. For the Camaro we are doing a shorty header test for sure and possibly a throttle body as well. I attached an example picture of the emissions sticker because those vehicles have a specific Evap group number that is required. We would need the vehicle for 5 business days per test to be safe and the customer would recieve a free set of shorty headers or throttle body or both if we use their vehicle for both tests. I dont have exact tests dates yet but im currently waiting on them. I just need to have a Camaro lined up and as soon as I know the test dates I can let the customer know.

So pretty much I need the vehicle and the EVAP Group number has to match.

2012 Camaro 6.2L with the Group # CGMXV06.2089 (This vehicle will be used for header and throttle body test)

The vehicle needs to be completely stock. Stock sized Rims and tires, no tune, no gearing change, etc...

I have personally gone through this process and and know how nerve racking it is to be without my baby while its getting tested, but saving several hundred $$$$ on parts, makes it worth it. Plus you can say that you are the reason XXX part is CA legal.

Yes I am eligible. Have a few questions for him. Just hard to let someone I don't know take my car and do god knows what with it.

He will be able to give you the details. The tests they do are nothing to stress over. You get on it harder getting on the freeway then they will during testing.
