Starting zl1 with new injectors after build.

Hey guys. New to this site and sure I can get some help. 2014 zl1 rapping up a btr stage2 torque cam, high flow oil pump, timing chain,Gm performance
lifters, valve job,10% Lower 2.55 upper, ported supercharger and snout, 103cc BW TB,Boost a pump,e85 conversion kooks long tube w/ connection pipe. Already had a corsa cat back. I want to add my 1200 injectors but a guy told me not to start the car with those. Would it be ok to start the car with all this and my stock injectors to warm it up,top off fluids and then change to the 1200's and tow it to the tuner. Thanks in advance.

You can try but it might not idle and it probably won't accept throttle with the larger throttle body. If you have HPTuners your tuner should be able to email you a base map that will work with the injectors and throttle body so you can do the basics.

I agree with Larry post - you should have a tuner send you a tune for start up

My tuner pat g told me to not start it until I get my first tune - his first tune was damn near perfect . Only took like 2-3 data logs for him to get it fine tuned .. he has dealt with build like mine so his experience was spot on .

Ok thanks. What about my stock injector idea to top off fluids? Will it not run with other mods. Was planning on towing it to have it turned when a spot opens up.

You could try it - but your computer gonna freak out and possibly not idle , if it were me ,I wouldn’t tho . you never know it might even put you into limp mode .as your ecu gonna try and save itself

I’m no tuner but you know everything is controlled by the ecu .

True. This tech shit is crazy. Just want to warm it up so I don't have to pay for them to do it. I know nothing about HP tunners. Might see how much for a base tune to get it to dyno guy. Just didn't want to double pay.

So if I put stock TB on and stock injectors I can idle car without hurting motor? Then o can top off fluids switch over to new TB and injectors and tow it to tuner?

It might work but it may not hold an idle with the cam. Can't hurt to try.

FYI with old injectors,10%lower 2.55 upper 103cc TB and btr stage 2 torque cam, kooks headers cat delete,it started fine. Sounds gr8. It wants to idle low but I can hold it fine at 1000rpm.

Don't even think of trying to run E85 with only a boost a pump for fueling, you need a fuel pump upgrade or an aux pump first.

I definitely am. Nickys in Chicago builds hundreds of these zl1's for years with more whp than mine that have been running gr8 for years. With many other shops running the same combo as mine.Never heard this.

Running E85 on a stock ZL1 with a BAP is doable-any reputable tuner would refuse to do it because your on the hairy edge. Your combination will be well into the 700+RWP range. Your on the hairy edge or already over with a BAP for the combination you have on 93. Your tuner if he is worth a s*** should see your running out of fuel on 93 and refuse to enable the flex fuel tune until you upgrade. Please post a link to one person running a combination other than a stock ZL1 on E85 with only a BAP, you won't find it. I am just trying to save you time, money and frustration and a burned piston. I run E85 on my ZL1 so talking from experience.

Matt Peckham tunes hundreds of zl1s on YouTube for Nickys performance. All those mid 700's you see have baps. With warranty . The owner of FIC said to me,your running a BAP right? He knows my entire setup for the injector recommendation. They race these up to 1000hp no problem. I'll go with them. Each his own.
