First time buyer - Price Check and Advice

First time car buyer here! I've done tons of research, test drove a few cars, interacted with sales people from various dealerships just to get myself comfortable. I've settled on getting a 2012 IOM Camaro, of which I've possibly sourced one out.

2012 Camaro 2LT with RS Package
Inferno Orange Metallic
White Stripe
Orange interior accents

The website lists it at 32,790. Of course, I'm not interested in paying that much. But with the 13's coming out soon, and I have a feeling this one has been sitting on the lot for a while, I'd like to know what sort of pricing I should be getting (or trying to get), so I can devise a strategy to negotiate that price.

Is it reasonable to think I can get away with a price of between 30,500 and 31,500? Even lower?

Also, just for clarification, I've been reading posts on here regarding price; are most people usually quoting BEFORE tax, title, license, and registration fees?

Finally, I was lucky enough to get a $1000 private offer, and was hoping that once I settle on a price with the dealer, I can drop that voucher to improve my position even more.

Any help and/or advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi soooopahfly, I am also a first time new car buyer, and am getting very close to a purchase. Like you, I am considering a new 2012. So far I've talked a dealer down to $26995 + 304 in fees (will try to get the fees taken off) for the following:

2012 Camaro 1LT RS
-Imperial Blue Metallic
-RS Package
-Rear Vision package
-Connectivity Package
-spare tire

It's not a 1:1 reference to the car you're considering, but given that the 2LTs seem to be about $3k more than the 1LT's, I think you could definitely get a deal in the $29k-30k range. But again, I'm a newbie, so correct me if I'm wrong people.

Invoice is obtained by discounting car by 4% and options by 12%. The 2012 will be a yr old model as soon as the 13's hit...
