66# lighter than the 1SS and 77# lighter than the 2SS.
Unless I'm reading the page wrong.

I was hoping for about a 200# difference....
So you think a few coolers and lighter brakes will make up 200 pounds?

I'm absolutely amazed that at least 3/4 of the time you post on here it's absolute nonsense.

Also a good portion of that Weight is off the nose.

Take it home and bolt on a 16” drag tire. Sounds Good to me

Less standard equipment. Different fascia and supports. Less liquid weight.
Smaller rims/tires. Heavier engine.

I was expecting the LT1 to be in the high 34xx to low/mid 35xx range. The 1LT V6 M6 comes in @ 3411. Calculate, off the cuff, without knowing the det's, how much extra a V8 car is vs the V6. I obviously didn't think it would be 200 lbs. overall.

If that's nonsense to you. Cool.

You're trying to add weight to the V6 instead of subtracting it from the SS. They're deleting equipment from the SS, not adding it to a V6

And, in theory, it should land somewhere in between. Obviously, I was too optimistic on my guess. I said I was hoping for 200#'s off the 1SS. I was expecting more than 66 on a "stripped down" car though.

I was off. But, not fantasy land off. Especially when you have to guess on a totally new model based on 2 old models.

In the end, I was incorrect.

Honestly, you can look at it both ways.

From an ordering standpoint, this car is more 1LT than 1SS. As far as available options, it shares more of those with 1LT. I look at it as a 1LT with base SS suspension and powertrain.

Would be cool if they gave it a 1LE pack but the version the 4cyl and V6 gets instead of the big daddy SS version. I think those cars look great.

I read that forged 20" wheels are optional on the LT1, are those the same "forged 20" SS 1LE wheels?

I doubt it. Does anyone have info on these (presumably) new forged wheels? I wonder if they are the same forged wheels currently offered on the V6 1LE?

Is a 2020 ordering guide available with pics of the wheels?

So how does GM/Chevy get the word out about the availability of the new LT1? Only enthusiasts like this site and a few mags and websites know what it is and that it will exist in the 2020 model year. I get Hemmings Muscle Machines and they ran a very good article about it, (about a half a page), calling it a sleeper if not for the SS hood. Compared it to the 5.0 mustangs of the '80's. I want the word out to help Camaro overall sales. BTW, I called my local dealer to get an appt for the latest fix on my son's A8 tomorrow and accidently got a salesman instead of the service dept. He didn't even know what the A8 shutter was. Get some Dodge style ads out asap from the I4 to the ZL1 1LE and all models in between. Show the buying public there is a cool Camaro for every taste!

Just read on GM Authority about two special editions for Russia only, black and shock editions. Both have the 19 SS front end, but are I4's. 20 black ones and 30 shock editions. Way to boost sales and use up 50 '19 SS front ends, GM! Cost over $53 K U.S.

If the LT1 has a curb weight of 3619, then that means that it's a 4.1 - 4.4 second car, and I am not sure if the vehicle has launch control.

A ss camaro already goes 0-60 in 4.1 or 4.0 , the lighter LT1 may put the car at 3.9 to 60 with the 10 speed auto and set up properly.
