I am still having the issue but now I am over the 36k mark. When I took it in for service work, the service guy stated that they could not replicate it (that was before 36k). I can do it even with the engine off. I cannot find a Chevrolet service department that does not make up "reasons" that are not covered or they cannot replicate.
So it looks like I will be replacing the rack out of pocket. I took it in then cause my stabilitrack and abs light came on while I was on a trip. (I pulled the code with my torque app for a failed to read sensor), but it cleared before I could take it in. When i did take it in after the weekend they told me that they could not find the problem and it may be related to the "rodent dropping" that they "found" on the sub frame next to the engine on the passenger side. When I looked there, the only thing I could find was some small rocks or pebbles. I could not find droppings of any type, any chew marks, or any openings in the harnesses along that area.. But anything to make it not covered under warranty. .. Might be time to check out to see if the Challengers or Mustangs are having any issues.... so much for being a GM guy...
