That is when I do mine. I think it's pretty standard to clean them every 10k.

I bought a second one so I just swap them when the oil is changed (about every 5,000 miles). Once washed, I can leave it to dry for several days. Then, re-oil and store until the next swap.

I like to let them go about 24 hours before re-oiling or place them in the sun or over a heater vent for a day.

I do not suggest using an air compressor as that can potentially open the media up and make the filter less efficient at catching oil.

Having a second filter is really the best solution to avoid downtime while cleaning.

Best regards,

What else can I add, I wait until they are dry....lol it depends, usually half a day or so using one of the following methods.

My first choice is let it sit in front of a fan, makes it dry much faster.

Second choice put it out in the sun.

I think a 2nd filter is my best option honestly, thanks for all the replies everyone! I waited 18 hours so definitely letting it dry inside is NOT an option. I have only a porch at my town home so I'll have to try and find a sunny spot next time or just turn on a fan and let it sit in front of that.

No issues with it the past day so I guess i'm good

Roto-fab sells a cleaning/oil kit on their web site. Best for the intake. You could also use K&N kit, which can be picked up at Autozone or O'Reilly's.

Do you get a kit with the first order for your filter? Or is it pre-lubed and ready for install?

When you order a second oiled filter, or the complete intake, it comes ready to put on. You'll need the kit for cleaning and oiling the second filter you take off if you already have a CAI. Either way, you'll need a cleaning and oil kit to take care of the filter.
