Texas Camaro-friendly Dealers

Has anyone identified any Texas dealerships that are knowledgeable and as excited as we are to get their hands on the new Camaro?

I've spoken with a few dealerships in Frisco and Dallas, but they haven't been following through with information (like CamaroScotty has). I'm going to head to a few dealerships next week, when I get back in town, and I'm going to begin my quest to find the best dealer.

It will be hard to find a dealer so excited about a product thats 8 months away.

I got my Cobalt from Classic in Grapevine and was very happy with their knowledge, pricing, and attitude.

I have already spoken with a good friend of mine who is GM at Keating Chevrolet in Winnie, Texas. (east of Houston) When the time comes to order my 'vert I expect a good deal there.

I have to call my Ancira Winton dealer just to touch base with them. This has been my dealer for years having purchased 4 brand new vehicles from them at an EXCELLENT price. I will only do business with them (unless someone gives me a better deal...) Don't see that happening, though.

DO NOT GO TO ANCIRA. Only if they offer you MSRP....but, they told me 2k over msrp for the lt and 5k over msrp for the SS.

I did not like Vandergriff Chevrolet.

The dealership is run by V.T., not by the Vandergriff family that started it. They were a pain to work with. I bought elsewhere.

I've never purchased a car from Graff but I've met some of their employees. Pretty good guys.

Young Chevrolet has a great parts department. Good selection of cars on their lot too.

For Houston-area: I was not too impressed with Munday Chevrolet, as they took about 3 months longer than they promised to sell us our Suburban. Mind you, that was 8 years ago, but still. I have talked to about 5 dealers, and Bill Heard is my favorite so far.

Up until last weekend I would have said you were crazy for going to Bill Heard or Landmark. But they have replaced all the management at Bill Heard and its actually not a bad dealership now. We have a forum member working there and he is up on the Camaro. They have Corvette and Camaro specialists. One of them is a member here. His name and username is David Croft. I asked him about MSRP on the Camaro and he said it wasn't up to him and no one has said how they will handle pricing yet. But when he finds out something he will call me.

we have a dealership in Austin called Henna... we've done alot of business with them and we've sent them alot of business... even sold my '00 Civici Si on an "in and out" through their used car department... we'll be getting our RS/SS from Henna and we'll be paying MSRP for it... and we're first in line at the dealership

You're the second person to say that, but I just went down there to see Bumblebee, and the guy I talked to seemed really nice and genuine, he got my contact information and said they were not taking a list until price is released, but that he would call me. That is the best thing I have heard from about the 6 dealers in the area I have been in contact with recently. I did not get the impression that he was pulling my leg or that he was ignorant like many of the other salesmen I have talked to. The only thing I did not like about the dealership was that they had sold a ZR1 the day before I came, that seems way too early to me but w/e.

I hear a lot of guys from our area talking about Classic Chevrolet. I have yet to call them but they are supposedly selling the Camaro a MSRP when it comes out.

If I was to get a new one I would get it from Ancira in San Antonio.

But you should really see if there is an established dealer near your house. Because getting service where you purchased it does matter, well could matter but normally they will introduce you to the service department etc.

My dad and I bought an Avalanche from Classic. Knowledgeable people, but they tried to shortchange the trade. We were able to haggle them back up to blue book value though, so overall they're good people.

I just got off the phone with Stonebriar Chevrolet next to my house in Friscohoma, and I have an appointment tomorrow to put down my $500.00 REFUNDABLE deposit. Larry Leath, New Internet Sales Manager, is the guy I've been speaking with, and he stated they will sell it at MSRP. No rebates, etc. He also said that once it is delivered, and I get a chance to see her, that I can still get my deposit back. As if I wouldn't almost mug the guy for my keys!!!!!!!

My day has turned around completely!!!!!!!! I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve!
