As for everyone saying they are "cramped in the car". Are you guys 6'5" and all 300+ lbs? I am 6' 210lbs and I fit in the car very comfortably. I tend to believe people over exaggerate so they have something to cry about.

I didn't get one because of how much headroom it took away. When I was test driving Camaros kept bumping my head on the ceiling with sunroofs.

6'3", 240 lbs, and my sunroof is open whenever possible. Not cramped, but only about an inch between my head and the headliner. Absolutley love it. But agree with monstertodd - I had t-tops in my old 300zx and LOVED the more open-air feel.

I have one. I open it every time I can. I also leave it partially open during the day to let heat out.

I have one and open it a lot. I didn't plan to get one, but after I sat in both, I liked the interior better with the sunroof.

What you "gain" with having the sunroof, you lose on roof lines of the car... The "reverse mohawk" style of the coupe roof is part of the distinctive look of a G5 Camaro. Try to view 2 coupes side-by-side on the Chevy dealer lot and you'll note the difference.

I wish mine had one. First car I've had without a sunroof in years. I usually install them aftermarket but it doesn't work well with the reverse mohawk, sadly.
I do love the look of the reverse mohawk, though, so I'm not too torn up over it. I heard you lose a lot of headroom with the sunroof though.

I've had one on another car and on many rentals. Meehhh.
Would not get one on a Camaro, because it deletes the reverse mohawk contour, which looks sharp. |

I can't imagine a 5th gen Camaro without it...the car is so closed off (poor lateral/rear visibility, high doors/windows), I would feel claustrophobic without a sunroof. Opening the sunroof (every time I get in it) seems to help expand the interior making it feel roomier than it really is.
I was indifferent about the sunroof when I was shopping for one...pretty much a "take it or leave it" mentality. But now I know that I would've regretted it had I bought an SS without it. I'm 6'3 / 230 lbs and fit just fine despite everyone's complaint of lost headroom due to the sunroof (of course I shave my head...so I don't have the extra 1" of hair that most guys have to deal with)

I'm 6'2" and 250#. I have a sunroof, and the headroom is fine. Some people love the reverse mohawk, and that's all fine. But for me, the sunroof was a deal breaker. If I couldn't find one with a sunroof, I wouldn't have even bought one. Love my sunroof!!!

I gotta have a sun/moon roof.
I have to admit I don't use it a lot... but i like the openness and light it gives to the interior ... got hooked back in 98 on a mark viii ... I have had 6 vehicles with the sun/moon roof never a problem or leak ....dah ... unless I forget to close it when it rains-less chance of that with my Camaro .. its got the garage =)... |
