Okay, that explains it. By the 1970's, I was a grown man who had put away his childish toys; doin' the wild thing with the finest chicks I could find was my purpose in life. I never looked back neither.

Television is anathema to me; the wife and I never watch it unless there is a PBS broadcast worth spending an hour,or less, viewing.

I know that I may be wrong, but I've heard from colleagues at work that some people watch the boob-tube for more than three hours per day!!! Damn, they sure as hell hold their lives cheaply, don't they?

Yes, nightmares...watch at your own peril.

I was probably 7 or 8 when this was on...and really didn't watch much television. But, there were some shows like this I occasionally did see...

-shudder-

Oh, and back on topic...I still remember occasionally watching The Monkee's on TV as well. Still know the theme song...surprised no-one has posted it yet.

I bit of Monkee trivia... When they performed in Seattle, Jimi Hendrix opened for them. His guitar riffs were drowned out by the girls screaming "We want Davy!". He was quite the heartthrob. RIP, Davy....

My Monkees Present

When i was somewhere between 8 and 10, I received a Monkees Album.

I got it for my birthday. My parents said that I requested this present but I don't remember telling them I wanted that.

I just remember being in SHOCK that I got this present. (I completely ignored any other presents I may have received.)

This was one of the best presents I ever had.

I am pretty sure this is ONE OF THE INFLUENCES that led me to become VERY OBNOXIOUS in public and not care at all what anyone thought about it.

LONG LIVE THE MONKEES!

Sidenote: Too bad that the "stars" that our kids look up to don't have the same qualities that Davy did. He didn't do drugs, wasn't a drunk, didn't beat women, wasn't arrested on a daily basis and was an all around good guy. People from all walks of life should take a lesson from him.

Rest in peace.

911 tapes released; they were confused and hesitated on whether to wait for help or to take him in a truck.

Im guessing another case of if a defibrillator was near by he would be alive.

Very sad, He was very loved in Beavertown ,Pa where his part time home was. He was planning on turning an old local church into a theater and museum of Monkees memorabilia.
