Getting ready to put my calipers together this weekend and was wanting to know if anyone uses assembly fluid, I see Raybestos has one called BAF-12 wonder if its really necessary???

I just used brake fluid on the pistons and seals. If you got the RB Blue silicone high temperature deals keep the brake fluid off the boots.

Just have the factory boots. I don't think RB would sell just the boots had to buy a whole kit, I went with the Z06 vented pistons

I rebuilt my calipers twice. The first set looked good when I did the second set. You should be fine doing it like any other caliper you've done before. The only gripe I've got is trying to get all those pistons out without air. Once one is out the air doesn't work.

I put a piece of wood so they would all blow out completely and then used a pair of cannon plug pliers to finish extracting the pistons (almost like a dentist LOL).

Progress

Well got one caliper rebuilt minus the cross over line just need to strip and paint.
I got the Z06 pistons from "Iamgmparts.com"
The bleeders with caps(AC Delco) and dust boots (Centric) from Rock Auto need to order another boot set ripped one of the big ones. So here is a pic of tonight's progress.
I got new bolts, pins, and clip from Amazon all AC Delco.
Just froze the Pistons and lubed the seals and it almost fell together.

I just saw the new 2017 1LE has red 6 piston Brimbos that say 1LE.

Does anyone know if they will fit the 5th gen 1LE's?

And if so what is the part numbers.

Thanks
Craig

I believe they fit but the rotors do not due to offsets. You could start checking some of GM sites but still maybe to new.

If your dilemma is the sticker and color that's easy to fix.

The rears don't fit because of the electric e brake. Also the new Brembos have a different look. They won't match the existing rears. I'm still convinced the best option is some eBay used calipers and have them painted and rebuilt.

I would give that a try but I'm not sure what paint would work.

I've seen a few that people tried to paint with sad results.

Thanks
