Russ have you updated anything besides the motor on your car in the way of rear end or tranny mods? Want to see what you have done and how it holds up when you hook up with your new wheels.

I'm going with Mickey Thompson 305/45/18s for the back and Nitto 265/50/18s for the front.
Please post pics when you get the new track shoes. I'm trying to figure out which ones to get if I can ever sell the 22s I have.

I definitely will (whenever I can get out there). I really need to get my roll bar done. There are some tracks I can hit now, but the bigger ones won't let me run long without it.

It's interesting you should ask that. I actually burned up my transmission a few weeks back. Owen at ARD still had his tranny at the shop (he switched to a 4L80 since he was running 1000+ RWHP). He was cool enough to let me borrow it while he built mine.

I didn't want to post anything until I knew what was going on, but it looks like the 4/5/6 clutch plates fused together (pics below). According to Circle D this is one of the weakest links in the 6L80. I drive it hard, and I guess with 600+RWHP it just couldn't take it. GM specs this transmission at a max of 469 HP (flywheel) and 439 lb/ft torque. I talked to a GM tech the other day that said he's seen this happen on stock cars.

Owen is building my transmission right now (his stage III kit). I'll post it up here later with more information and pics.

ARD finished my transmission and installed it this past Saturday. I'm still babying it, but this thing shifts nice. Much more quick and firm.

Just posted this up in the transmission section, but here are all the components to the stage III upgrade:

Replace oil pump return spring
Modify pressure regulator valve
Replace pressure regulator valve inner and outer springs

Modify valve body separator plate circuits

TCC release
TCC apply

3-5 Reverse clutch feed
3-5 Reverse clutch feedback

1-2-3-4 Clutch feed
1-2-3-4 Clutch feedback

4-5-6 Clutch feed
4-5-6 Clutch feedback

Tig weld drums (common failure point)

1-2-3-4 Clutch Hub and Shaft Assembly
2-6 and 3-5 Reverse Clutch Hub and Shaft Assembly

Frictions (Clutches)
2-6 Alto Red Eagle Power Pack (50% more surface area)
3-5-Reverse Red Eagle Power Pack (70% more surface area)
4-5-6 Alto Red Eagle Power Pack (50% more surface area)
1-2-3-4 Clutch Pack Replaced with Alto High Energy Clutches
Reverse Clutch Pack Replaced with Alto High Energy Clutches

Replace all seals, gaskets and filter

I'm waiting on some pics, and will post them up as soon as I get them.

Yea...we figured if you have to tear it apart anyway, why not upgrade everything.

The tranny feels great. Shifts are firm and quick. Drives like a different car. I'm babying it right now, but I'm very interested to see how it feels when I can put the hammer down.

I realize you're a thread jacker Hose, but why would you choose the front license plate pic? You lost at least 10 HP when they put that on!
