Corvette parked next to me
I went to Safeway today and parked near the back of the lot, with tons of empty spots around me. I am in and out in less than five minutes and there is a Vette next to me. Now here is the question-
Did the owner do it as a Chevy thing or as my husband thinks, as a "my car is better than yours" type of thing? What do you think when this happens? I assumed it was a "we both like our cars and don't want idiots hitting them". Just curious to see other opinions... |

It could have been worse a shopping cart or a rust bucket !!!!! Good choice for parking mate.

definitely a Chevy thing, I doubt he would have parked there to say I'm better than you, more like knowing that Chevy owners respect each other.

Thank you! My husband seems to think it was just a stuck up person. I smiled when I walked out and saw it parked by me. :-)

I think they did it because they think you drive a nice vehicle also. If a Mustang, Challenger, or Corvette parks right next to me, I take it as a compliment.

i would say, they saw a nice car, and new that they wouldn't have to worry about something else parking next to them, or the owner of the other "nice vehicle" harming theirs. I do this constantly. would rather park where someone is already parked in a nice car, even if it is in the back of the parking lot, than park next to noone. dont have to worry about someone backing into me of hitting my car with their door if it is a nice car

Then you will LOVE this picture of me at work, sandwiched between a Charger and a Mustang.

The Charger was there first....the van decided that it could fit in there. I park next to the Charger most mornings and the owner always seems to get some jerk next to him by the time I leave. We get there around 5am and then spots open up throughout the day. Downtown Seattle sucks for parking.

Definitely a respect thing. Also he knows that it protects one side of his car knowing that the owner of the Camaro will be careful.
