2011 Tans Am and other cars with Camaro platform?
I was just wondering if anyone has heard some solid news on other cars that will share characteristics with the 5th Gen Camaro. Meaning a Pontiac or Buick performance coupes. I have been looking around and found out some info, but nothing seems solid. I found some picks of a trans am concept illustration and a GNX. I think this trans am illustration looks much better than the older ones out there and 100 times better than any of the future GTO illustrations. Just wondering if anyone else knew anything.

The transam looks VERY narrow in those pics, but I like it. The buick....ehh...not so much. The front end looks like a nissan sentra. I like the back (looks like Acura TSX-ish).

I thought Ed Hamburger or John Moss was supposed to be working on a new GNX for GM, hmm. That was back in '02 and I haven't seen or heard anything as of yet.
As far as the Firebird is concerned-- I just want to say that if GM is going to bring this car back, I hope that they update that phoenix. |

I've heard that the Camaro will have no 'twin'. The Zeta platform is to be extremely versatile and so GM can do more than just change badging and interior on them. The cars can have different lengths, wheel bases, and (im not sure on this one) track widths. But imagine, 2011, there may be new Camaros, GNX's, Chevelles, Firebirds, GTO's, Impala SS, GSX, El Caminos, and it goes on. All possible, all based off the Zeta. I know not all of those will happen, but the Impala is up for a rebuild, there are GTO rummors, and Buick needs help. The other ones, well we can hope right?

I think the number was 36? I know it was in the 30's - of completely different combinations, and hence different vehicles, that can be based off of Zeta.
