It's not cheap.QUOTE]

So this would fit directly into the under seat connector?
From what i've been able to gather, yes. One of the harnesses in the kit will directly connect.

Dont think so, that pic is of the air bag connecters in the seat, not the main connecter under for the seat.

Ofer would definitely know better than me. Do you make resistors for this scenario?

All you need is the 25 cent resistor thats under the heat shrink. Just need to figure out what size it is. The connector is just there for people who don't want to permanently modify their cars wiring.

does anyone know what size resistor is needed and which wires it needs to be connected too? This seems to be a hush hush topic, thanks!

Of course they are going to say "don't do it"

And if he crashes while doing any racing his insurance would be voided anyhow

On my Miata, 3.3K OHM resistor did the trick. I used 3 big 10K OHM resistors in parallel. With the large surface area, they don't overheat.

This simulator seems to just splice into the related wires and do the trick. Even though I can do it myself again with stuff from RadioShack, I'm thinking about doing it with this kit this time.

Do we need to hook up anything else besides the airbag simulator? What about position sensor (to tell the car how close the seat is to the steering wheel) for instance? Anything in that nature would need to be removed from the OEM seat and moved to the new seat. In my case (on Miata), I simply moved the position sensor onto the new seat. It never showed the seat as too close (it's basically an on/off switch), but my seat does not have sliders, so it doesn't need to.

Looks like I'll be installing a race seat on my 1LE, and will know a lot more about this very soon

I think you mean 2K ohm?

2k Ohm sounds fine, but what's important is the wattage. If you don't get the right wattage, the resistor can burn out.

I used 3x10K ohm resistors and tied them in parallel on my Miata. They are pretty big resistors and dissipate heat very well.

I just deleted my steering wheel airbag (sparco wheel) and I'm going to delete the seats soon as well. Anyone habe a definite answer on the size of the resistor needed? Or maybe if theres a kit so I dont have to cut into any wiring, that would be preferred. Thx.
