Anyone have Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires on their RS tires?

Looks like my Pirellis are about to bite the dust after 27,000 miles. They only have maybe another 1k to go.

I have no problem with the Pirellis other than the short treadlife. I have Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires on my 240sx, and I have no problem with them. However, it's hard to compare between that car and my Camaro.

So to anyone with these tires on their 20" RS wheels, how are they in comparison to the Pirellis? Road noise okay? How do they look?

These things are like $70 more expensive for the set, but the treadlife is 50k miles - basically double the Pirellis - so...yeah.

Thanks.

there is no way you got 50k miles out of those tires :0 I could only dream of making them last that long

I agree...48k miles is a bit unbelievable. I drive a little spirited, but I don't do burnouts or regularly spinout my wheels or drift all over the place. As far as I remember, the Pirellis are rated at like 20k miles, so I'm 7k over. If you're at 48k, you're like..rewriting the laws of physics or something.

Get the Continental DWS', ive had them for almost a year now, and the tread is basically new!

oh anddd my pirellis lasted exactly one year for me. 12 thousand miles and tons of burnouts got rid of the tread quick hahaha!

Sounds about like how I drive. I'd love to know what kind of magic you're working. 3 of my tires are kind of okay, but the front passenger side is gonna need to be changed sooner than the others.

They will be my next set of tires in a few months. I will be lucky to get 20 K out of the P's. 245 on the front and 295 on the back.

I got a set of the conti's last year and they are great! I went with stock size up front and 295 width in the rear. I'm picky when i comes to tires and these do not dissapoint at all. For the cost, you just can't beat it. Compared to the stock pirellis? Less road noise for sure, way longer life but you do comprimise slightly on the handling. I have auto crossed once with the conti's and they do hold very well but there is some side wall flex. Not too noticable but once they rack up some miles they feel great. One thing the conti's are awsome for is thier superior handling in the rain or wet road conditions. I literally try to find standing water to see I can hydro plain but you just cant. The conti's take a little more time to get heat in them as the pirellis take less time to heat up. Overall very good tire. Well at least for me.

Cool, thanks for the review!
