front plate on the 2010
Im just wondering about the placement of a front plate on the 2010 "SS".
I know it looks like crap but im in Ohio which requires a front plate. Does anyone have a pic of their car with a front plate so I can see how it looks so I can decide whether or not im going to take my chances? Thanks. |

They also make a hide-away one that I have seen on here that I would have loved to have gotten. I didn't have that option as I bought this one off the lot and it already had the plate holder installed.

I bought a no drill front plate bracket on ebay. Works great. Easy to take off and put on. Uses existing bolts under the facia and then clips to the lower grill. If you want one, the ebay seller's name is fdsell http://myworld.ebay.com/fdsell send him a note and see if he has more. He sells them for V8, V6, with or without GFX. So, tell him which your car is.
I'm in Ohio too. No need to be drilling that bumper! |

Do a search and look in the cosmetics & and lighting modifications sub-forum. There are a number of options available from several different suppliers.

California also requires a front plate too. I used the factory plate mount, only mounted it a little lower in the bottom grill. I used 2 drywall toggle bolts to go through the 2 top mounting holes and slide into the slats in the grill. It looks as though it is supposed to be mounted this way, and no holes drilled. I don't know if this would work on a V6 car, but works great on a V8 one!

I have a factory front plate holder for free if anyone wants it. You just pay shipping.

I have a remote controlled Lic plate holder, unfortunately I don't take pics of my car with it up...and when its down, its under the car.

Everyone including cops ignore the front plate law in Ca. Drive without a front plate and take yer chances. Just a fix-it ticket if you do get stubbed for it.
Driving without license plates seems popular in Ca these days. You can cross bridges and HOV lanes without tolls, run by red light and speed cameras and avoid paying registration fees. Sport bike riders often hide their plate inside the rear fender. |

It works like this until you have been warned twice about it and then things change. They popped me for tint on my truck's side windows too.
