it's certainly your prerogative to waste as much of your money as you like.

I changed mine at 3000 miles. After looking at the oil that was drained, I could go 3000 more miles if not much more than that. But then again, I drive it quite a bit.

i actually agree with the op i took a road trip to ny and the traffic is insanely too much so i can understand why you would not want to drive it alot just sitting in traffic is no fun especially in a camaro

You must have those special "oil analysis eyes," then.

Once a year change for low mileage vehicles that don't hit the DIC indication point.

Use the DIC for the most accurate estimate of oil life remaining. The system is sophisticated to the point of almost complete accuracy. If you don't believe it, get an oil analysis done by somebody like Blackstone Labs.

I changed my oil the first time at 1200 miles. I just happen to like to know what is in there, and I like knowing that what was in there during break-in is out of there.

Mobil 1 is great stuff. Take apart an engine with 150,000 miles on it after it has been run using only that oil (I have) and you will be sold. Wal Mart has 5 quart jugs for under $30, single quarts for around $6 and a filter at NAPA (use the Gold or Platinum) is like $8. Recycle your used oil at an auto parts store.

That's like marrying a Super Model, but not wanting to spend the money on her sexy shoes. Get Crazy, Put Mobil 1 in that Beast! I guess you don't use high octane gas either....

The only motor oil I trust in my mustang's 4.6L engine is Mobil 1
5W30 full synthetic motor oil with Mobil 1 or Ford Motorcraft oil filters.
I do my own oil changes religiously on time every time.I will do my oil changes every 3K miles or 3 months whatever comes first regardless.
That's only four oil changes a year I perform that's nothing compaired to the guys at the track how as doing a oil change every race they attend. The only reason why my car has lasted is because I always do all my general maintenance on time.
