Looking for tires.

It's time for tires on the SS. I'm at 17,500 miles now. Choices seem to be limited still. What I want is either the Nitto Invo, Toyo Proxes 4 or the factory Pirellis. I can get the Pirellis for less about $195 each and the the Toyos for $176 each. I haven't been able to find the Invos yet to price them.

Anyone know where to find them in DFW?

Dude, I have 12k and freaking hope I have to buy new tires at 17.5. Are you lighting those puppies up at every light?

Nope. I haven't lit my tires up once. They were at about 5/32nds on the rear before my trip to Vegas and I put 2600 miles on them during that trip. I usually like to buy tires when they get around 4/32nds. I can probably make them last until 20k.

I just rolled past 16k and looking to do the same. I haven't really started the hunt for tires yet, but it will be happening soon. Will be keeping an eye on this, if I come up with anything will let you know as well.

Hi, I have 25,000 on my originals, and thought they might last a bit longer. So, how exactly do you measure the 32/nds on them, or do I need to go to a tire place for the measurement. I didn't want to do that because I figure they will automatically tell me I need tires.

I have heard a commercial about using the head on a penny. I will go try that and see if I can see the head. Anyway, please keep your posts up regarding the tires you get prices on, and what you go with. Good luck!!!

You measure them with a tread depth gauge. They're cheap and should be available at all auto parts stores.

Tread depth of the stock tire is 10/32nds when new. So, I'm at about 40% tread left at 4/32nds. State Inspection requires 3/32nds I believe.

I recently put on hankook ventus st's got them for 189 mounted and ballanced. Great tires so far quiet and sticky not too soft.

I am right at 17K with no burnouts at all just driving.
