Need Some Input on My Tire Research
Most likely heading down the MPSS route 295/315 for my '13 M6. Just talked to the guy at Tire Rack and will need to get on a wait list - OK no rush for me - but he actually gave me too many options. Looking for actual-user feedback on the following:
Fronts (295 35ZR20) they make the K1 9/32 tread depth with the additional option of standard load $380 or xtra load $408. They also have an N-spec same size but sounded like that was for Porsche only. Just curious why the xtra load option and assuming I should be fine with the standard? Rears (315 35ZR20), they make the K1 7/32 tread depth $426 and K2 with 10/32 tread depth $408, supposedly only option is xtra load for both of those. Thought I saw in forum that the widths were slightly different (K2s slightly narrower - might help with rubbing possibility?) but isn't the 315 equal across both? If time (and money) were no object, I am thinking K1 standard load for fronts and K2 xtra loads for the rears. Appreciate any insight thinking through this. I will take my chances (but open to input) on the rears rubbing issue. |

So, you guys that have done this -
295 K1 xtra load on front and 315 K2 xtra load on rear make sense? |

I can't speak for the 295's because I went with 285's up front, but in the rear you want to go with the K2's.

I have the 295/315 setup and both front/rear are the K2's.

Tire Research
I'm sort of in the same boat, looking tires for my '13 ZL1. For the 295/315 set-up-- do they rub?
I like the Nitto NT05 in 315 for the rears but there is no obvious choice for the fronts. There is an NT05 305/ 30ZR that is more than 1/2 inch smaller diameter than the stock GY that might work.

MPSS 315 K1 work fine on the rear of my '12. No rubbing issues.

I spoke with Michelin people. (866) 866-6605.
They said no production is forecast for at least 4 weeks on MPSS 295/35/20 K1 and 315/35/20 K1. They said they only know 4 weeks ahead at any point in time. They gave me some part nos, they call MSPN. MPSS K1 295/35/20 #28274 MPSS K2 295/35/20 #70656 MPSS K1 315/35/20 #19605 MPSS K2 315/35/20 #79430 This might help in trying to find these.

When my tires were being mounted, I was told that there are two more pair of the k1 rears available out of Tucker, GA where mine came from. The phone number from there is 770-414-9924. Give that a try.

Just curious why they make or anyone would buy K1 315s when the K2 is a few bucks less and has 3/32 more tread?

Not able to get the k2's at this time. My preference was the k2, but couldn't wait. Had 12,500 miles on the Goodyears. It may be my imagination, but these MPSS's grip better with my ADM 750 package then the Goodyears when I was stock.
