Jonas Gustavvson making a case for starting Red Wings goalie. This is one of the best saves I have ever seen.

It almost doesn't even seem possible. Easily #1 on top 10.

Still don't know why the Bruins got rid of this guy.

Seguin is the reason I am watching this team again. Incredible talent. When Modano was forced out it boycotted the team. New owners..new logo...I'm sold. Exciting to watch. My Seguin jersey will be here next week.

And y'all got Loui....be patient he is a solid player.

He wasn't forced out. He was an aging player who was taking up a top-6 position when the team had players coming up in the system that needed playing time to develop (or just outright play in a top-6 position).

Yeah...we will disagree on this. Been around the Stars for a while and know a few on the inside....he was forced out. Sakic and Yzerman were the same boat and they got to decide. modano got hosed..
Any way.

Now that football is over for most of y'all....time for Hockey! Stars are slowly getting back in it, now only two pts out of the playoffs.

I'm really surprised as I look at the standings today. Would not have seen this coming 4 months ago! Here comes the playoffs!

Because not all players fit on all teams. There's a locker room aspect to a hockey team, moreso than any other team sport, and no matter what the skills of a player are, if he's not a good mix on the ice and in the locker room, then you go get a player that helps the team, to replace him. Seguin stopped being that player for the Bruins, and the Bruins do not need Tyler Seguin to excel. He became a trade-able asset just like any player, and we've seen (Pocklington!) that any player is eligible for being traded, even The Great One.

No team is going team to keep a player just because that player can achieve personal stats- again, Pocklington and Gretzky. Since the Oilers traded Gretzky in '88, all bets are off and any player of #99's abilities or lesser can get dealt, and Seguin is certainly not superior to Wayne Gretzky. The Seguin trade was win/win for Seguin and the Bruins, and there is no cosmic law that says if Seguin had stayed with the Bs, he'd be doing as well as he is with the Stars.

If you ask me, the B's did him a favor in the long run. He's young and he got a fresh start, only a little baggage, and a franchise that is ripe for developing him into a real Star, no pun intended.
