Daytime running light bypass

Does anyone have a DYI on the bypass to the daytime running lights? I would rather no lights be on than those things, as an alternative to buying nicer bulbs. thanks.

yep..

ground the dk green wire from bcm, white plug (pin 11)

This wire can be grounded at BCM (by gas pedal) or at light switch (simply pops out )

DARK GREEN -> GROUND

VERY SIMPLE

I just keep my halos on during the day. turn the lights on one click to the right so the auto is off.

I do the same thing b/c I am anal and I don't like the running lights. I would rather no lights during the day in addition to increasing the lifetime on the halos.

How do I ground it? I am assuming unplugging will work but that doesn't seem safe.

Don't you just turn the dial that you use to turn on only the halos to the left? That overrides the auto lighting and turns everything off. (figured it out trying to sneak back home at night)

(dont flame me, have only had my car for a few hours, lol)

but wouldnt turning the switch to the right cause the lights to stay on all the time (even when the car is off) unless you turned the switch every single time you get in and out of the car?

I am wondering how to get my Halo's and my DRL on at the same time... all the time, and saw this post.

yeah, just turn the knob to the left and it'll turn them off...you have to do it everytime you start the car, but that's no biggie.

If you have an RS, you just turn the dial to the left one click to shut off the DRLs. If you want to just run the halos, turn it one click to the right.

If your turn the halos on, then yes, you need to turn the dial to the left to shut them off when you turn off the car. The car lets you know the lights are on when you open the door, so you won't forget.

If you have them set to auto they will turn on and off with the key. If you turn the halos on during the day by turning the switch one click to the right, then you need to turn them off when you turn the car off. But, your method of fooling the sensor with a cap over it will also work if you want the headlights on all the time when driving (not the halos).

I purchased a switch from a lt with the fog light switch in the middle and installed it hoping it would work to turn them on and off. No luck. Does anyone know if gm can reprogram it with the tech2 so the switch works them.
