Update after four 0-60mph runs.w/ AIRAID
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BOTTOM LINE= as of now NO improvement in 0-60 times, actually SLOWER runs w/ Airaid. THE ONLY differance was the Bar. Pressure! These runs:
Best time was 5.12 secs.,two @ 5.13, other was 5.14secs.
Temp............55
Humidity........50
Bar.Presure....30.09 >>>>>..Not as good Bar. Pres. as the runs w/o the Airaid.
__________________________________________________ _____________
My prior best time w/ just the MRT exhaust ....was 5.02 secs...Bar.Pres.30.33" = EXCELLENT Bar. Pressure...
My best time w/o any mods.(Just 19"tires)......was 5.23 secs...Bar.Pres.30.02"
Temp.........53 & 55
Humidity.....53 & 56
Elevation the same @ app.350' in all runs.
__________________________________________________ _______________
All else being App.the same the BAROMETERIC PRESSURE makes a VAST difference in times.
As does the elevation,Temp.& Humidity..........
I will do more runs when I can get Bar. Pres. @ app.30.33" to see if there any Gains w/ the Airaid.........

PHOTOS = 5.02 is w/MRT exhaust & w/Out AIRAID....& 5.12 is With AIRAID & MRT exhaust.

Everyone with the automatic:
Did you use the paddle shifters when you're in sport mode or did you let the car shift automatically in sport mode?

I found paddle shift is not faster than just sport mode... in fact using the paddle shift usually ends up being a bit slower since there is more chance of error on the driver's part...

Did 3 runs from 0 to 60 with the airaid and no change in time 6.35 to 6.55 sec. Last time with magna flow mufflers I ran 6.35 and 6.37.
Two things 1. it was about 4 degrees warmer 73, last time it was 69 and 2. I did not do the fuse pull before I did these runs. I did pull the fuses after and I'll try again tomorrow when its a few degrees cooler
all and all I was alittle disappointed.
Also a reminder I'm at 2600 ft above sea level.

couple of things...

Did you happen to know what that barometric pressure on these days? While it may have only been 4 degrees warmer, if the barometer was lower that would also slow you down... (along with higher humidity...)

When you did these runs was it first thing in the morning... where you start the car, drive and then do runs? Or was it start, drive, park for a while and then do runs?

Ron,
I did the neg. batt. disconnect & was also disappointed with no gain with the Airaid. Do a imprint of the seal with chalk to see how much of the seal hits the hood pad. I can only get app.24" of the 36" to touch. It is pulling hot air in.
As for the High elevation & warmer temps.it is not possible to get great 0-60 times...............:(

The car had been sitting all night. I did the 0 to 60 runs first thing about 11 am. after warming up the car. I do not know what the bar pressure was, the humidity was around 20% which it usually is. I'm in the mid desert and it usually stays constant. as I said I did the fuse pull today and I will try again tomorrow and post.
Thanks
Ron

You have a good point about the seal, I do not know how well it is sealing with the hood. I don't have chaulk or anything to check the seal.
I found my thermo coupler and I'll take a temp reading of the cai tube by the scenser tomorrow. I'd like to see what the temp is after a couple runs also.
Thanks
Ron
