If you have not heard yet and are planning to go to the All Gens Mt Lemmon cruise, it was changed to Aug 17th. Make sure to change your calendar..

Thanks for the heads up, I'll mark it on the calendar before I have a senior moment and forget. Right now it's pickup driving weather, we've been hit hard by several monsoon storms and some of the roads (paved and mud) are flooded.

Mt Lemmon will be a recovery drive and I'm looking forward to meeting new friends.

Monsoon

Anyone parking their Camaro during the monsoon? We've been hit pretty hard with lots of rain/wind and it's been over two weeks since I've driven the Camaro. Cummins p/u looks like it's been in a mud bog, Toyo mud terrains are highly recommended for those of you who also drive 4x4s.

Maintained county road Tuesday afternoon, private roads to get to the county road were in worse shape;

Then there's the wind;

Looks like 77°F will be today's high, no heat wave here.

Mine's been in the garage for the better part of 3 weeks. Take it out for a spin in the mornings on the weekends, but its been mostly a garage queen. Can't wait for the Mt. Lemmon Run. Going rain or shine and hopefully we don't get wet like last year.

0930 hours at McDonalds off I-10. Sierra Vista group gets together @ Gas City @ 0830 hours. Grab breakfast @ McD's off I-10. We arrive at Udall Park 10 "ish" time to detail & hang out. Roll out is around 1100 hours up Mt. Lemmon Any other suggestions?

Thumbs up

Did a number of interior and driveby video/audio for Pfadt Racing this morning, Pfadt will post it on their header thread after the camera gal gets everything edited.

Did a spontaneous drive Sunday after church. Began by having a chocolate malt with a friend at the Expresso in Willcox, we then drove SE on 186 to Dos Cabezas. The washes that cross 186 all had debris on the road, not much, but enough to slow down for and drive around large stones.

The wide wash north of Turkey Creek had clear water flowing across the highway, clear water is a good sign because it means no debris. Water was about 3" deep for about 20', so it was a slow 1st gear crossing.

There was activity along 186, Lifeflight was loading at the Dos Cabezas Cemetery parking lot and a deputy and fire rescue a little north of the Turkey Creek bend in the road.

Stopped in at Sandy's Restaurant, intersection 181/191, and we both ordered very delicious club sandwiches, I had potato salad and Cole slaw for sides, two choices from a list. The club sandwiches are very thick and generous, needless to say, the second half of the sandwich made for Monday's lunch. First time I've eaten there, good food so I'll stop in again should the Camaro take me there. Camaro received numerous compliments in the parking lot, I'm learning this is the norm, whether at the car wash or filling up with 91 octane.

Heading north on 191 and there was a Border Patrol checkpoint, BP agent had a "wow" moment with the Camaro and there was a slight muscle flex upon leaving his "jurisdiction". I always make it a point to thank the agents for their service, I really appreciate all they do for us.

Off of 191, the old Pearce Mercantile is in the process of being remodeled, there's a time treasure inside that brings back a flood of good memories. Upon leaving Pearce, travelled back to Willcox by way of Kansas Settlement, it was a great afternoon for a ride and the weather cooperated.

Had it not been for the Camaro, it's a ride that would have not happened. The gen5 is simply an exceptional driving experience for these old bones that are still able to enjoy the SS flex.
